Dj0rni, My point exactly. This is a perfect time to indoctrinate Shepard as he is experiencing fatigue and despair. Up to first two games when he was faced with the reapers, he was unbreakable. Hell in this game he was so adamant taking down the reapers. However, you can hear despair and exhaustiveness in his voice during his mission in London, Shepard is going through mental damage which is the best opportunity for Harbinger to break Shepard's will. Which form he would take in his head? how about that kid who Shepard has been haunted by for the entire game? To Harbinger, breaking Shepard's will then vaporizing him is more significant then just straight out killing him.
Remember what TIM said? Cerberus is an idea, idea never dies... Throughout the game, we can see Shepard has became no just a BAMF, but a concept, an idea that represents the resistance, determination, passion and will to live. (Wrex clearly imply my statement when he said to every Krogan, the word Shepard will mean a 'hero') Even Shepard dies, the idea of unification against the great unknown will not disappear, unless you break and bend that idea itself...
two of the three ending does not represent Shepard... this clearly violate his determination to destroy reapers by either becoming one with synthetic, a final stage of evolution (Saren mentioned this as well when he was indoctrinated) or trying to control them... which you are never able to. However, by sticking to his determination... Shepard is finally able to break Harbinger's attempt to indoctrinate him and wakes up after getting knocked out by the beam. That is the only way why Harbinger himself came down to London and Shepard waking up under «mortars», «concretes» and «rebars».
Коротко мысль из этой теории: Шепард на момент, когда по нему попал луч, находился в довольно подавленном состоянии. А тут он был еще и ранен. А самая сильная сторона Шепарда, что была? Решимость! И Жнецы внушили ему эту сценку, где ему надо выбрать уничтожение, объединение или захват власти над Жнецами. Если Шепард выбирал уничтожение, то гипноз спадал и он оказывался на Земле в куче обломков(Если трактовать концовку прямо, не понятно, как он там оказался). А если не выбирал, то Жнецы победили и овладели его разумом. Это кстати объясняет почему, все было так нереально.
